What's happening at convent

On Saturday the 14th of May, the chess team hosted the Annual Dominican Convent Chess Tournament. The team played extremely well and attained many achievements. The Junior A Team came first, winning gold medals and the Junior Girls Shield. Well done to Maita Mangwende, Adora Muringani, Ropafadzo Chikwanda and Emaan Malik. The Senior A team came first as well, winning gold medals and the Senior Girls Shield. Congratulations to Nakai Mahachi, Rumbidzai Mawire, Audrey Musiring and Megan Zhong. Memory Bvungo participated in Regeneron ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) finals 2022 held in Atlanta Georgia from 7 May to 13 May 2022. Memory was among 1748 finalists who participated in this year’s edition. Her project, Typha Capensis ‘Reed’ Bio-fuel won a third place award in the category of Energy: Sustainable materials and design. We congratulate Memory for her effort, dedication and drive to achieve such a milestone on the international scene. She really made the Dominican Convent family proud. We also thank Mr Ndambakuwa for assisting Memory with her project and making her realise her full potential.
