Voices of Excellence: Dominican Ladies Impress at St Ignatius Debate Tournament!

On Saturday, 23 May, Dominican Convent proudly participated in the St Ignatius Debate Tournament, fielding both junior and senior debate teams in a day filled with intellectual challenge, confidence, and spirited competition.

Representing the junior team were Rudorwashe Mututu, Kimberly Ndongwe, and Matifadza Chiwara, who demonstrated courage, composure, and enthusiasm as they competed against talented speakers from various schools.

 The senior team, made up of Diane Mlambo, Ruvarashe Masando, and Misiyashe Mutemachani, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The ladies won all their preliminary rounds, showcasing sharp critical thinking, persuasive argumentation, and excellent teamwork.  

Their remarkable run saw them advance to the quarter-finals, where they faced St Ignatius College in a highly competitive round. Although the ladies narrowly missed a place in the next stage, they represented Dominican Convent with pride, grace, and determination.
