A Winning Performance at the Royalties Debate Open 2025

The Royalties Debate Open National Championships 2025 were held from 10–16 December 2025, with our school proudly represented by both Junior and Senior Debate teams. The Junior Debate team, comprising Munotida Nyamanhindi, Wadiwanashe Muchemwa, Vimbainashe Gwete, and Tanatswa Taaziva, delivered an outstanding performance. They qualified for the finals and emerged as National Champions in the Junior category, winning the floating shield—an exceptional achievement.

The team also recorded notable individual successes. Munotida Nyamanhindi was named 2nd Best Junior Speaker and qualified for the Zimbabwe National Junior Team. Wadiwanashe Muchemwa placed 4th Best Junior Speaker and also qualified for the National Junior Team, while Vimbainashe Gwete finished 5th Best Junior Speaker and earned selection to the Developmental Team.

In other competitive categories, Tanatswa Taaziva placed 4th in the Spelling Bee, while Mufaro Kaseke won the award for 2nd Best Junior Public Speaker. The Quiz Team, comprising Neema Homodza, Wadiwanashe Muchemwa, and Tanatswa Taaziva, finished 4th overall.

The Senior Debate Team recorded three wins out of six rounds but did not progress to the quarterfinals.

Overall, the tournament was highly successful and showcased our learners’ talent, confidence, and strong competitive spirit at national level.
